The excitement is seriously strong with this one.
In an official announcement by Lucasfilm, ILMxLab and The VOID, plans were unveiled for a “free-roaming” VR experience in the parks of Disneyland and Disney World.
In a statement, co-founder of The VOID Chris Hickman promised to take guests to a ‘whole new world’ – but we reckon galaxy might be more appropriate.
Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire will be a “transformative experience” promising to excite your senses and make you feel part of the Star Wars story.
Vicki Dobbs Beck, executive in charge of ILMxLab, explained that guests will become “active participants in an unfolding Star Wars adventure”, so yeah, we can now officially call ourselves Jedi.
The experience will be created by combining Lucasfilm’s “cutting-edge imagery”, the work of Skywalker Sound and sensory attractions.
But while we’re not exactly sure when Secrets of the Empire will be unveiled, we do know a little more about the upcoming Galaxy’s Edge theme park – and it sounds properly amazing.
After being unveiled at Disney’s D23 Expo last month, the House of Mouse confirmed that the world of Star Wars is officially coming to life in Florida and California.
Not only will you get to walk across Star Wars‘ terrain, you’ll also get the chance to play a key role in an epic battle between The First Order and The Resistance. Choose wisely, young Padawans.
Oh, and you can even fly Han Solo’s Millennium Falcon in a customised mission, too.
